Alex Akuete is a Creative Director, Founder and Visual Artist based in Antwerp. As a Creative Director, he designs and directs cultural and multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with institutions including MoMu, Arenberg, DeSingel and EUROPALIA, creating projects that connect younger generations with art, culture and professional opportunities.
As a founder, Alex established XRAY Community, Young Voices at MoMu, the biannual fashion platform SIGNAL, the performance company DAURA, and the youth opportinity platform LINCORA. He is also co-founder of Wave Together, a platform connecting emerging creatives with established professionals through conversation and networking.
As a visual artist, his practice explores identity, ritual, human connection and the relationships that shape individuals and communities.
In 2026, Alex was appointed Chief Strategic Officer and Creative Director of BAKUN, a contemporary art and cultural foundation, where he contributes to the organisation’s strategy, cultural development and long-term direction.
