REVERSE is a project led by the Creative Director Alex Akuete, in close collaboration with MoMu, inviting Gen Z youth to explore their dreams and talents in an open, accessible environment. Guided by fashion students, teachers, and industry professionals (who may become long-term “buddies”) participants are encouraged to build confidence, develop skills, and connect through fashion. Many young people have a strong passion for fashion but face barriers or lack role models. REVERSE aims to remove these obstacles by creating a space where they can interact directly with professionals and peers, using fashion as a shared language for dialogue and creativity. The project avoids hierarchy and promotes genuine, two-way exchange. In partnership with MoMu, Akuete offers an inclusive setting for those who aspire to work in fashion but haven't yet had the opportunity. Through hands-on workshops, participants gain skills, meet professionals, and grow their networks. This mutual learning between young people, artists, professionals and cultural workers is central to REVERSE. The project encourages youth to engage confidently with the fashion world and provides a platform for creative expression and collaboration. The journey culminates in a public fashion show where participants present their work and stories, celebrating their talents and ambitions. Ultimately, REVERSE is more than a fashion initiative: it is a space for learning, connection, and empowerment, helping the next generation find their voice and community through creativity.
